As a woman in her sixties, I look back on my childbearing and rearing days with thankfulness for the time I spent with my children. They learned at home and as a result we had lots of time to read, play and talk. I wrote about my homeschooling experience in “Learning At Home: A Mother’s Guide To Homeschooling” and started a publishing company to publish it. I sold the second edition to a Canadian book club – Crossings. It is now in its third printing.
I volunteered as a La Leche League Leader for many years helping women to breastfeed their babies. I developed and taught fingerplay and music classes to new parents as well as teaching parents how to massage their babies starting in 2000. I retired from those programs in the spring of 2009 and find myself writing more and doing a lot of needle felting. I recently wrote my first chidlren’s book, “Autumn Stories”, illustrated with my needle felted art.
I drink a lot of green tea, am a voracious reader, and like to sing and laugh.
