Not ready to get rid of ours, but have you tried UsedVictoria already? http://www.usedvictoria.com/classifieds/kids-toys?description=dinosaur&pricefrom=&priceto=&search_radius=5&postal_code=&wanted_ind= I'd also try Value Village and other 2nd hand stores, in general ;-) If they ...

Re: Children and Celiac disease
OP - That was my exact position a little over 1yr ago! My niece was just turning 8 when she was diagnosed :( We are all still learning, but it is quite astounding how many things have gluten in them! I never would have dreamed that you'd have to watch for gluten in even make-up, particularly lipstic...

Re: School supplies question
This year we are expected to buy a big pump size of hand sanitizer for the class to use before lunch etc. :? ... Seriously?!?! As in, they won't be asked or given the opportunity to go and properly wash their hands before lunch each day?!?! Disgusting!! :x I wouldn't agree to that either! S...

Re: School supplies question
Oh, and does anyone know where to buy Interlined full ruled exercise books? I have found the 1/2 plain, 1/2 interlined as well as the full blank and also the full lined but not the full INTERlined ones. (they have the regular lines and then a dotted line between the full lines) I seem to remember h...

Re: School supplies question
I wish, but it's a separate line on the list. That's why I find it so confusing. Also, all those crayons are in addition to the 4 packages of 8-pk broad tip markers, 6 large size (40g) glue sticks and a whole wack of other stuff. I bought everything now as it was on sale, but I definately won't be ...

Re: Allergy "Menus" at Restaurants
Tim Horton's has an allergy chart: http://www.timhortons.com/ca/pdf/TimHortonsAllergyChart.pdf Have you tried Sante Gluten-Free Cafe on Quadra? They will accommodate dairy-free needs, and I'm sure they would help check labels to ensure no milk protein?? http://www.facebook.com/pages/Sant%C3%A9-Glute...

Re: School supplies question
I buy based on price and the brand I choose. My understanding was that the list that is handed out by the school (whatever school that is) is the list of school supplies that come in the package if you order the package through the school. You don't have to follow that list exactly if you are buyin...

Re: School supplies question
Wow. Our Kindy supplies list was waaaaay less complicated than that! Pretty well your standard 1 regular box of 24 crayons, 1 box of 8 felts, 1 pair blunt tip scissors, etc. I think the most unusual thing on our list was a large scrapbook, but that was for pasting all their memorable work in, so we ...

Re: Stroller Rentals?
I'm sure there are others, but here are a few places that rent baby equipment: Kiddin' Around Consignment (in Sidney) seems to have the best prices? (see near bottom of this page): http://kiddinaroundchildrensstore.blogspot.ca/ Abra-Kid-Abra (in Oak Bay): http://www.abra-kid-abra.com/rentals.htm Wee...

Re: Minecraft?
Our son started playing Minecraft at the age of 7 with his Daddy, and really enjoyed it for his "screen time". We don't like violent games either, and we don't allow gun play, but if you only buy the basic game (which is really quite inexpensive at $10 or so?!), I believe you only get a pi...

Re: Pandora bracelets, westshore?
Yes, unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be an authorized Pandora dealer in the Westshore specifically - search the Pandora Store Locator, and change it to "list view" to see a better overall picture - there are places in town, Sidney, Duncan & Nanaimo, but doesn't seem to be anything...

Re: buskers festival..guide/schedule??
...she went to one at the Bay Centre and the busker stopped part way through. He just said, "It's too hard to do this in a mall because people just walk by. Come and see me at one of the other locations and you'll see my full show.". I found that odd. Wow! I agree that IS odd! And how dis...

Re: Need Birthday Ideas for my Dad for 70th birthday.
