Re: Lying
I'm not sure what you expected when you posted here. I don't think anybody on KIV is going to be able to tell you exactly what to do to solve this problem. I don't think you should give up on counselling because the one you consulted wasn't able to help you (although I wonder why that person didn't ...

Re: Lying
I'm surprised that you describe these lies as "harmless" when they obviously are having quite a devastating impact on you.
I think it's a really positive sign that he acknowledges that he has a problem and is getting help for it. Have you thought about seeing a counsellor yourself?

Re: instead of bamboo or cedar?
Forsythia is deciduous.
I concur with those recommending laurel. It makes a nice-looking hedge, grows rapidly and is easy to care for.

Re: RANT: Where are the parents?
 Wow...just...wow. Why do you even go on the field trips? You sound like you don't enjoy them, don't enjoy the kids and hate the parents. What good are you doing there? If I found out you were one of the duty parents on my ds's field trips, I'd be making sure you never came on another one. You...

Re: School fees - do you "have" to pay?
I think accepting the payment for the yearbook and not letting you know that they intended to apply that to the unpaid fee is pretty rotten.

Re: RANT: Where are the parents?
I think that the rant actually has the wrong focus. More people I think would get what OP is saying if the rant was actually about the fact that some children it appears are definitely not receiving enough discipline at home and that is reflected elsewhere. It has nothing to do with parents on fiel...

Re: RANT: Where are the parents?
^So when you ask "Where are the parents?" you aren't really looking for an answer or to initiate any kind of discussion, then, since you already know where they are and what they're doing and why they're not doing their duty (as you see it). Got it.

Re: Separating and leaving the house...am I going to get scr
I do not believe that to be true.
Have you consulted a lawyer yet? If not, you should. BC Families in Transition is also a good place to turn.

Re: Rant - Bottle Drives!
Yup, I find it annoying to have people coming to my door EVERY Saturday asking for bottles. I am usually still in PJ's and don't really feel like being bothered. If it were for some sort of charity, I would be happy to help, but these are bottle drives for kids that want to do things like trips to ...

Re: opinion? school related incident with another parent.
I feel much the same way as Debbie, except that I'd grit my teeth and try to get through the event if it was important to my child to attend. If you want to address it or if she says anything about what happened, you can just point out that the decision to offer the leftover lunch to your child had ...

Re: Jumping on couches
I draw the line at jumping on the furniture, too. They can take the cushions off to make blanket forts, though.
I foolishly put a neutral area rug under the table where we ate all our meals and the kids did their art projects. That got completely ruined.
