Re: Signing a waver for rock climibing...
My husband is a lawyer and recently wrote an article about this on his blog.

The short version is, children's right to sue cannot be waived in BC.

I am curious, Momsquared, what kind of issues did you have with the current principal?
I'm curious too..

Re: Sailing or other not too athletic activities for kids
My 9 year old son isn't very athletic either and has poor coordination. He started karate at Canada's best Karate a year ago and he LOVES it. And his balance, coordination, and strength have made amazing progress.

Re: Why does my 8 week old NOT sleep longer than 15 mins?
My first was like this...what i eventually had to do was sit on the couch half-reclined, surround myself with pillows so baby couldn't go anywhere, and put her on my tummy/chest, and that's how we slept for a few months....oh, and baby slept on her tummy....so basically it is everything you're told...

Re: Need help answering my son's question..
Blacken - We sponsor a child from Senegal and he knows about his living conditions because we discuss it at an age appropriate level. He's an extremely bright, empathetic child and asks questions like this all the time. He doesn't "watch the news". We aren't religious in my home although w...

Need help answering my son's question..
My 5 year old ds recently asked me "why does God make places where its too hot to grow enough food and people starve to death. Why does God let people suffer" My problem is, I have no idea how to answer this question. I've never gone to church, I've never read the bible and I really want t...

Re: School and OSC closures
My whole point was that our school's power was BACK ON by 9:45 AM. Why didn't they issue a delayed opening first before closing the school for the entire day? It just doesn't make sense. I would never expect my kids to be in a school with no power, but our school had power at 9:45.
