Have you tried waking him at the same time every night to go to the washroom so that it becomes a habit for him?

Probably what you are already doing, but make sure he isn't drinking liquids after dinnertime and is going to the bathroom right before bed.
If my kids have a drink before bedtime, we get an occasional accident.
It may be worth speaking to your doctor too, to make sure he doesn't have a bladder infection or anything.

I haven't tried the waking him up, I could do this before I go to bed and then we get up at 5 to feed our baby and do it then, see if that helps.. The problem I find is that he doesnt seem to wake up when he pees,, We tried the cold turkey route last week and he didnt even wake up til the monring and was soaking wet..

My son is 7 and he wears 'Good nights' pull ups. I used to wet my bed when I was younger and I just eventually grew out of it (I think when I was around 7 or
. I think with some kids they are just going to wet the bed, but they will grow out of it eventually. As long as he's healthy and he pees before he goes to bed then that's all you can do. I don't restrict my son's water intake at night, if he's thirsty he can have water.

Re: how to night time potty train 6yr old
Our DS is 4 and we got him off pull-ups a few months ago. The first 1-2 weeks he wet his bed a lot and it was definitely a struggle!! He still gets a small glass of milk about a 1/2 hour before bed, but has to go pee right before bed. Now, he only has the odd accident and he even gets up on his own sometimes to go pee in the middle of the night. From my personal experience it was easier to just take the pull-ups away and let him figure it out. On the other hand some kids tend to have a hard time. One of my brothers wet the bed until he was almost 10 and it was something he just eventually grew out of. Good luck.

I took about a week of no pullups and me waking my daughter up twice in the night to go pee. She has since started waking up herself to pee and has no accidents. This is how my mother night trained both my brother and I as well. It's worth a shot.

Mine too although he is 5 still. Doctor said it is developmental and you cannot develop his bladder any faster.
I have to wake to pee once or twice and so does DH so we know until he is able to consistently wake himself, get up in the night, find the bathroom, etc he isn't ready.
Personally it is not an issue for me. We get underjams and they are fine.
DH tried waking him without success and also leaving him without the pullup and that just resulted in daily laundry and an emotionally traumatised kid. I told him making DS sleep in a pee soaked bed night after night because of a society stigma that every kid "should be night trained by 5" is not an emotionally healthy option for our son. Night peeing is not something he can control. It is a physical developmental thing.
Cutting fluids helps once in awhile but then he was dehydrated not drinking at dinner.
I saw a friend go through this with her son and she let it stress her out and nothing they did made him develop any faster so I figured why waste the energy.

I agree with the last poster. If they're not waking up to go pee during the night then you're just training yourself to get the kid up - you're not really training the kid....and all you're doing is disrupting their sleep.
A bedwetting alarm may help if you want to take away the night time pullups - but otherwise why stress about it? They're probably in such a deep sleep they don't realize they're peeing so chances are they're not going to wake up anyway if they have to go. As they get bigger (and their bladder does) they should be able to hold it through the night.

Re: how to night time potty train 6yr old
I too posted about this a few months back, we bought a plastic bed sheet and did a count down to the night without pull ups. Then went cold turkey. Nothing, DS has been dry every night. He told us the other day he only peed in the diaper cuz he didn't want to get up and use the toilet, basically our son was just being lazy.
It can't hurt to give it a try.
Good luck
