Child support question

If I'm taking custody of my son back as of July 9th, am I correct in thinking that they are required to make a payment for July 1st in order to cover the month of July?

Hmm, I don't know about that. I would think if anything it would be pro-rated. Are you paying him child support for the child currently? If so, I would think that you would be able to not pay for July. Maybe you two could just work out an amount between you that you could agree upon for that first month?

Sorry, I should have mentioned that

I already figured that what we should do is divide his support by the amount of days in the month and lower it accordingly?
