The perfect purse

Postby missmuffet on Sat Oct 22, 2005 9:26 pm

I find myself always in pursuit of the perfect purse and I can't help but wonder if it does not exist. I have quite the collection of bags large and small, leather, straw, cotton, etc.. It seems like my purse is just too large or too small or not roomy enough or has too many compartments or not enough or doesn't fit my wallet or cel phone .....
Anyway I wonder if I am the only one in this pursuit or is this a "girl" thing? Has anyone found the perfect purse for their needs? Do I have hope? When I see a purse I like in the store my husband roles his eyes and says "quit with the purse saga!".
Please share your pursesuit stories :?

OMG, I had to laugh when I read this post because...well I'm embarassed to admit it...I have bought and returned 3 purses in the past 3 days.
I buy them, get them home and realise they're not what I'm looking for. Like you said, too big, too small, wrong size strap, etc. etc. My family thinks I'm nuts LOL.
So, altho I haven't found the perfect purse, I am with you on this one.

I actually use a compact-disk holder/shoulder bag for my purse :P All of the other ones (purses) were just too big and this one was just right for me :)
If I am going to be unique, I am going to be unique with flair.

I LOVE the small shoulder bag from MEC. Tons of pockets, fits wallet, cell, kids snacks, sunscreen (in summer) etc. It's the best purse I've ever owned.

I love purses! I have...I think about 16 hanging in my closet! All different sizes and shapes and my friends always borrow them :) I think Winners is a great place to find unique purses. I also have to admit that Zellers and Walmart have some pretty damn nice purses. But the last purse I bought was from Winners, it's denim with red inside lining. The brand is Hot Kiss. My mom even liked it so much that she went to buy it too, on she bought the same purse in a different shape!

Right now, I'm currently just looking for a nice, slick black leather hand bag! They have one at Zellers that's pretty nice but I'm just going to check around first :P

I do the same thing with shoes... :? I have 8 or 9 shelves of shoes in the closet! I love stilettos!!! You should really see my lime green ones...OH and my friend brought me back a pair of leopard print stilettos from Germany! They're great!!

I second the MEC bag for everyday use.
I also turned alot of my friends on to the 'boat and tote' bags from L.L. Bean. It's quite casual, but there are lots of colour choices, zip-top or open and monogramming. Be wary of their size specs. though... I thought the large size was suitable, but then laughed my head off when I opened the package and it was the size of a hockey bag! I returned it, no hassles/questions and got the medium with long handles.

You should check out 'Accessorize" in Mayfair mall if you haven't yet. I went there a few months back and I was drooling over some of their purses!

I am also buying purses all the time, they are perfect for a while and then I get bored of them and start to find thing I don't like about them and have to buy another one. Sadly I have passed this on to my 17 yr old daughter. Between the 2 of us we have over 40 purses. And don't even get me started about shoes!!!!!

I do have some purses for sale on this website if anyone is interested....plug plug!!

I've bought two MEC bags and sold them. I've collected tons of bags, made my own, tried it all, posted on here seeking advice . . . . . and then i found Lesportsac. They have every style of bag I need, and I get 'em cheap on eBay.

I have a medium sized bag for parks/days with the kids, so I can carry gear, snacks, and my personal stuff, each in their own place. I have a smaller everyda 'purse', for my stuff, water bottle, room for a snack, so I can run errands with the kids. I have a big one for travelling/flying/overnights . . . and a cool waistpack/hip pack for walks and when you just need keys and a wallet days.

I got rid of all my other bags, and I now have 4, each with a specific use. I love it!!!!!
For a minute there, I was myself.
