Rant: flus with bad timing

My poor boys. Both of them are deathly sick with a flu with a wicked fever, and they are KEENLY aware that today is Tuesday, and that they missed not only swimming but that they will be missing their Beavers meeting tonight - at which they were going to carve pumpkins.

A says she wants to come over and snuggle with S and read him a story to make him feel better. C says he wants to bring his cow over for J to sleep with so he doesn't feel yucky.

Sorry they're sickly....hope they don't get "sick man syndrome" too badly.

'nome, you're kids are deliciously sweet!

Ok, new rant: flus that take foreeeeever to go away. This is their third day home, and we're all turning into loonies. They are still sick enough that I'm pretty sure they will be home tomorrow too.

This is getting soooooo ooooooold.......

And, because they've had moderate to high fevers off and on for the past few days, they've been having wicked nightmares the last few nights, waking us up multi times in the night for water, a snuggle, a retuck, last night they all wanted in our bed, so dh had to take the couch and I was trapped in my bed between two hot, writhing, whining 5 year olds.

I feel like I have newborn twins again. :P

Day 4, and today the fever broke! I was beginning to get worried actually, as it was never going away, and meds were just barely keeping it in control. One of the boys was having strange hallucinations about ice inside his head. Now we are totally congested and dopey. They are lying in my bed right now and it sounds like there are two piggies in here. Snort snort!

Looks like they will be missing the ENTIRE week at school - unreal!! Strangely enough, the 2 -year old had it for a day, and has been bored stiff all week. Poor kidlets!
