One of my ads has disappeared

Postby sapphire on Wed Feb 07, 2007 2:14 pm

Has anyone else had an ad deleted ?

I had one in household that I placed yesterday. It was viewed and bumped twice by others this morning. When I just went to delete sold items, it is no longer there ?

It was a lot of typing too and placing photos of all the items. directly in the ad....

For a minute there, I was myself.

I don't know if this is the one but I tried to open one of yours last night and a window popped up saying I had to sign into something, then when I tried to close that, another came up that there were too many users on that site and to try later (I'm thinking it was whatever site was host for your pictures?) and I couldn't get rid of the pop up boxes and had to shut down my session as it made it non-responsive.

When I saw that there had been a response to it, I tried again and the same thing happened and I had to close my session again.

Maybe that's why?

I deleted that ad for the very same reason.

a window popped up saying I had to sign into something, then when I tried to close that, another came up that there were too many users on that site and to try later (I'm thinking it was whatever site was host for your pictures?) and I couldn't get rid of the pop up boxes and had to shut down my session as it made it non-responsive.

sorry about that, but there was something strange happening.

I'm guessing it had to do with the website you were linking your images from.

Thanks for your understanding.

I just bumped another of my ads to the top of household for sale. Does that one work oK?

The photos are all on the same place - not sure if just trying a new ad will solve the problem ?

Oh no ! I guess I should have copied the text out of it first ....

I feel very confused though - because some people did view the ads fine - I had 4 different users come and purchase an item today - after seeing those two ads.

Any ideas for me ?
I'm not overly computer literate

oh sapphire, I'm sorry about that. It crashed my browser, so I thought best to get rid of it.

Maybe you can email me with the text you are using to post the ad (and pics).

But, for now it looks like you should probably use another site to host your images.

I'm going to move this topic to the technical support forum.

Send me an email to info@kidsinvictoria.com and I'll get back to you later in the evening (but I'll be out for a few hours).

Thanks sapphire.

Hi, yes , I have the same problem as Ivy-Girl -- when I open sapphire posts, I have those pop up icons, and I can't close them, have to turn off the computer and scan for viruses. It happened so many times already that now I carefully watch for your posts (for some reasons happens only with your posts) and avoid to open them even though you are selling stuff I might be interested in.

Sorry about your computers !

Could it be because I use a Mac ?

Though - why would some people be able to see the photos fine - it seems like a lot can see them - because lots of people have come to buy stuff ?

I'm thinking maybe I better not have the photos on there now. But then I remember reading a post in KIV that more users like to see the pics in the posts.... instead of emailing for them....

I also have trouble at least a quarter of the time with people not being able to see the photos I email them - I send them as jpg files. Why would that be ?
