Rave for Swiss Chalet..
I took the kids there for lunch today. We got there at 1:15 pm and were out of there by 1:50. I couldn't believe how fast the service was. And for 4 of us the bill only came to 23 bucks before tax. I will definitly be going back.

ds and I love going there as well. I love their french fries and their ribs are quite tastey. ds likes the fact that he can get Shirley Temples for his drink with the kid's meal.
We find them always quick, good and inexpensive.

Really ???!!!!!
Wow I maybe the exception but both times I have gone. I have had the worst experience of my life.
(2 adults, 1 child)
took 15mins just to be asked about drinks.
Food was cold, messed up order
charged extra on bill
(2 adults)
took 30mins after placing drink order to get drinks
had to listen to a booth full of there employees talk about there parties.
had to finally get up and search for someone to take food order
food came and that was it.
No asking how food was, no refills on drinks even though I asked.
I could somewhat understand if it was busy, but it was dead in there both times.

Swiss Chalet fans, here too. And I have complained a few times about them being out of children's toys (when it is promised as included with meal). ALL 3 times, I have had personal emails from the owner, and he followed up with gift certificates to the restaurant, and once mailed out some kid's toys to my dd!

We've been once and only once.
Service was horrible, our vegetables were a mushy mess, and the chicken was very augh.
I miss Ontario Swiss Chalet's where it's nearly a "fine dining" experience!!
Perhaps we should try again and hope things have changed since 6 years ago.

Huge rave - thank-you for the tip!
I hadn't been there for years, but decided to take DD for lunch yesterday based on this thread (she's not quite 3). The service was soooo fast, super friendly & the food was great (& hot!), and good prices. This was about 12:30 & it was quite busy, which impressed me even more.
