Hawaii Condo

We're thinking of renting a condo or something in Hawaii next year - anyone have any places they've tried and were good or bad? Any contact info? I've looked on VRBO but there are soooooo many choices and I have no idea what's decent. Anyone?

We stayed at Sugar Beach resort with our 5 year old and 1 and 1/2 year old. It was great. If you rent the units privately I think you get a nicer unit. We rented through expedia. The unit was out dated but clean. We had ocean front, but I think even ocean view would be pretty good in these places. The actual property was great. Nice pool. BBq area, hot tub sauna, little store and sandwich bar. Its in Kehei. Very central to everything. If you do a search on this site on Maui you will find a bunch more posts with info on maui.
Have fun. I think we are going to go back next year as well but for 2 weeks for sure. It was the perfect family vacation in our eyes. Just hit costco when you get off the plane and stock up for the week. I think we spent maybe 200.00 on food for the whole week.

We rented a wonderful 2 bedroom condo at the Maui Vista across from Kamaole 3 beach in Kihei..It was great and the owner lived in Victoria at the time we rented from her (she's now near Ottawa but looking to move back) Her name is Heather Nicholds and she's wonderful...We paid $115 US per night in April of last year...2 bathrooms, dishwasher, laundry, air conditioning and fan..overlooking the pool...

She also has another condo in a more upscale resort (both condos on her website), but the one in the Maui Vista was perfect for our family (kids were 22 months and 4.5 years)

Tell her I sent you if you decide to book (referrals get me a free night and we're planning on heading back next year - whoo hooo!)

I second Sugar Beach We loved and can't wait to go back! We rented through someone directly in Victoria I think they have sold now. If interested I may be able to find out. but, you don't need a private person.

We rent our time-shares at the maintenance fee + admin costs as it's better that somebody uses it than nobody at all and we everything from a studio to a two bedroom.
