Any awesome summer camps yet?
Maybe my standards are too high but for the past 3 summers, I haven't been particularily happy with the summer camps I've chosen for my kids. It seems there's always something - inexperienced leaders, disorganization (or even chaos
), too many kids, bully behaviour not addressed, etc. etc.
So I thought I'd ask here and make some notes for next year - are there any summer camps that you have been very happy with? I'm interested in school aged and full day type camps. Any feedback appreciated!!

Hi... we did a soccer camp at a church done by ET Soccer Academy. It was fantastic. And, we did a VBS Spy camp done at Emmanuel Baptist Church. I didn't notice any bullying. The junior leaders there were great and the kids had a blast. Both are half day, so not sure about the full day ones. Good luck!

The boys and girls club seems pretty good. last year we sent our son to the local recreation camp and he hated it. We sent him to the club this year and he loved it. We signed him up for two weeks, but not consecutive. They have a climbing wall, archery, canoeing, swimming. My son cant wait for next week when he goes again. The Friday-the last day-they went to Shawnigan lake for the day.
Hope this helps.
Hope this helps.

I totally recommend the Earth Adventures Summer Day Camp that the Boys and Girls club runs. DS is 12 and has attended various full day camps the last few summers and for one reason or another he has not wanted to return for the following year. Maybe I am picky to
I think we have to be when it comes to our kids!

It is very well organized, and the leaders have thus far been incredibly on the ball, addressing issues that have come up ( from my son as well as other children), they seem to genuinely enjoy the work that they do and are physically up and interacting/playing with the kids basket ball, soccer and what not.. ( at lease this is what I see when I drop off and pick up)
I believe next week there are some students from U-Vic coming as the theme is Science venture.
They take the kids on all sorts of trips around Victoria to neat beaches.
A couple of weeks ago when is was SO hot, they rode ice blocks down the grassy hills at Juan De Fuca. I thought that was pretty cool.
DS can not wait to go the next day! and my generally non social child met a friend at camp that he is now socializing with out side of camp time.
FYI The weekly sessions are also daycare subsidy eligible.
