My beautiful birthday boy!

Sometimes I'm amazed at how crushing my love for my son can be. Yesterday it hit me so hard I was choking back tears.
I threw an empty package of smarties into our recycling box, and Raine went and fished it out. He was standing there with naught but a t-shirt on, little bare bum peeking out. His little shoulders were tense with concentration as he searched the package for stray smarties. I felt such an explosion of love for him. So innocent, so hopeful. So perfect.

Today he is two years old. I love seeing him grow, learn, speak, explore. I miss when he was a baby, but I'm looking forward to what he'll be doing next.
All I can do is thank God for such a blessing, nothing else has given such insight into myself and the world.

That was a really touching story. It's funny how the littlest things can have such an impact and remind us just how painfully intense the love for our children is.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAINE!!

I hear you Alicia...when Em was turning a year old I thought oh gees where is my little baby gone and then when I was playing with her last night and she started to draw hearts and flowers perfectly on the page I started to cry.....!! I can't believe how grown up she is..and her words! Just amazing little guys

Take care and remember to live each day as though it is your last and you will always cherish those special moments!

I imagined what you described like I was there. What a cutie he is. It is amazing the love we feel for our children. I found myself in tears a week or so ago while watching Ryan sleep, thinking how lucky we are to have him. Having children definitely changes you. Happy birthday Raine!! Look forward to seeing how you change this next year.
