Powerloss in Langford?

Postby mom2one on Tue Feb 05, 2008 6:54 pm

My Mom called me saying she heard on the news that some homes in Langford have no power and won't get it back until the morning? Has anyone else heard about this?

I'm in Langford also but we obviously still have ours *knock on wood* - totally hoping it stays that way!

On the News at 5 there was about 2400 without power but by 6 or so it was down to about 350 in Langford. I heard Sooke was going to be overnight though not Langford. Langford they were trying for tonight.

I'm in Colwood and we had no power for about an hour and a half. Luckily it was back on before it got dark.

Our friends came over here because their baby is already sick with a cold and they didnt want to make him sicker without electricity.
They live by Dunsmuir school and their power is back on..but they dont know how long for since they just left here.

We are just by Dunsmuir too and went without power for just over an hour. It came back on around 5:15 and so far since the wind has died down there hasn't been any flickering. Hopefuly we make it through the night, as well I hope others get theirs back quickly. We were without power for 5 days last year and it was "COLD".
