Butchart Gardens by bus
Has anyone gone to Butchart Gardens by bus from downtown Victoria? Is it a really long painful trip? Is it worth it? TIA

it's about 45 mins right from douglas @ fort i think. the #75. it's not bad. what do you mean by painful?
what time of day and which day (weekday or weekend?)?
i'd wait 'til closer to spring so you see more of the bulbs in bloom...not sure how colourful things are right now though it's always beautiful! i think mid april would be best??? loads of tulips and hyacynth i believe -lovely! maybe their website could confirm details..or call and ask.

By painful I mean long and stopping everywhere along the way.
It would be the weekend. Thanks for the information. It is a big help. I think we will wait until more is out.

i has a bunch of stops along douglas, one by mayfair, one at t&c, then it's on the highway (a stop at mckenzie and at royal oak, then at sayward by elk lake), a couple stops up tanner ridge then a couple along keating then i believe you just head right down the hill to the gardens. you basically have a few less stops than most routes as it's hwy, industrial then rural. on the weekend you'd miss the rush hour volume delays but it'd be somewhat busy everywhere with the exception of morning i'd guess (esp sunday). check the schedule as only a few a day go direct from town...most of the time, you have to catch a different bus (30, 31, etc) to get to royal oak exchange then transfer to the 75.
