Toddler sunglasses that stay on

Postby Teetertotter on Sat Apr 05, 2008 8:55 pm

My daughter will be around 18 months this summer. I've seen lots of cute little sunglasses that look like miniature adult sunglasses, but in candy colours or with cartoon characters. What I mean is that they have the regular arms with hooks that go over the ears. She won't keep those on her face. Guaranteed. Where can I buy little sunglasses that she won't be able to remove?

Try a few of the baby shops in town. You can get ones that have an elastic type strap that velcros in the back.

a number of the baby stores sells "baby bands" they are sunglasses that has a strap that goes around the head to hold them on, i know TJkids sells them for 10-12 i think.. you can find a cheaper version at please mum(there was some there a few weeks ago on thier sunglass racks)

my kids never found the baby bands/toddler glasses comfy, they press on your nose. We had success with just always having sunhats on, and the brims are deep enough to always shade their eyes. :) Get a nice bucket hat with the tie-on strap. Abra-kidabra sells em. :)
For a minute there, I was myself.

I second Baby Bands. I don't have a toddler but they stay on my baby like a hot darn. Pretty much all baby stores carry them.

My DS could get the baby bands off last summer when he was 10 months old. Give them a try OP - but I'm willing to bet your 18 month old will be able to take them off as well as the standard kind!

Thanks for your advice! I'll try them on in the store to see if she can get them off. If she can, we'll stick with the floppy hats. We have some, put I'd feel better if she had sunglasses in addition to the hat.
