We lived in the Hillside/Fernwood area about 9 years ago and have major problems with having our bikes stolen. It happened to us twice. It really sucks!

I saw a bike tonight (between 7 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. I think) which looked like it was "parked" in an odd spot. I am trying very hard to remember where it was. It was leaning against a street sign, on a corner, I believe, and I think it was a white or silver bike.
I drove down a few streets in the Oaklands area (that's where it looks like you live). I went down Scott Street from Hillside to Bay and then up Shelbourne to Begbie (and further but I don't think it was there). Then I came back along Shelbourne and I really think it was along there (on the side of the street that Pharmasave is on) but before that --maybe somewhere near Ryan St.
I know that probably doesn't help but you never know.

Sorry that some uncaring person has taken something that belongs to you and that you need. I hope that your husband gets it back.
Post an ad on Used Victoria....you never know.

I had two bikes stolen off me. I had one for less than a month as well. I figured out it cost me $45 a day before (that big b******) Leslie got it for free. That was a lot when I was making $8 an hour. It's made me not want to ride my bike now for fear someone will see it and want it.

Thieves should have their own special room in the hottest part of hell.

That totally sucks..that happened to my husband's bike a few years ago. It was locked up in our carport..the theif sawed through the cable lock and made off with it..So of course we resported it etc.
One week later, the tool who stole it (teen) rode behind our place while hubby and friend were installing a satelite dish..So my husband is opened mouth and saying to our friend, thats my bike!!! He dropped everything he was doing and started to run (had to go down a flight of stairs and over the chainlink fence) chased him down and eventually the kid ditched the bike..As he couldnt get away fast enough! The bike was banged up pretty good and they ditched the $35 rack that we had on it for my oldest's bike seat at the time...grrr..the police were impressed by the story! Thumbprints didnt come up with anything..but they have it on file for future..I hope Kharma bites the kid in the a$$ big time for putting us through that. (new bike too)
Whats more nerve racking is that there are theives watching us out there..seeing were we live when they see something we have they want, etc..
