No saved recordings on PVR!
Well, I thought I'd be so clever and record Survivor this season and then watch it at my leisure - And I had lots of other cool shows for me and the DDs... All gone due to the power outage I guess!?

Don't worry, you haven't lost everything.
Every time the power goes out, mine does this too. You can either phone shaw and they will do a reset from their end or if I don't want to wait on hold I just unplug mine for a few minutes then plug back in. Voila! back to normal.
Hope this helps.
Cheers

Thanks Crystall - Der... Never thought to call Shaw if you can believe it!
Tried the unplugging it trick and didn't work - Guess I'll get in the on-hold line up with Shaw.

Did Shaw recover it? The harddrive is like your computer. It can' "erase" unless it fails. However, the list could reset. Do you have the Motorola or the Tahoe?

Mrs. S.,
I am curious if you/shaw were able to retrieve your PVR stuff? I lost mine 2 times, they were not able to recover, once was due to a power outage and the other time, no one knows for sure what happened
The last time it happened they switched out my machine and it has been fine.
Everything was still there after Sunday's power outage.

I'm curious too - my PVR is full right now and I would be horrified if I lost everything. I wonder why some people lose their recordings with power outages and some don't? I haven't lost anything yet or had to reset and I've had my PVR for over a year...

Re: No saved recordings on PVR!
Well - bummer... Wasn't able to get the stuff back unfortunately.
I phoned Shaw and they reset it, but nothing.
Lara, it's a Motorolla.
The tech I talked to advised me to get a surge bar. I wonder if you guys who didn't lose your lists have surge bars?
The suckiest is that I had a gazillion Postman Pat episodes saved for the DDs and just in the last week it's been pulled from the BBK's line-up!
Figures!

Can they send a tech out? They shouldn't erase like that. I have the Tahoma now because I had issues with mine but they were the 100% full problem with nothing on the drive.
Wondering what is says for % "full"? Is it just missing the things in the titles or is showing 0%?
I am not sure about the Surge Bar - Yes I have one BUT I am VERY careful to unplug ALL electronics in the house the minute the power goes out. The reason is that the surge happens when the power comes back on, not when it goes out.

Okay, happy DDs again as it's still on BBCK - I just couldn't see it yesterday.
