Working when your sick sick sick.. vent

I have been battleing this chest cold for a few days.. going to bed early, etc.. but it is worse than ever.
Clients still bring thier sick kids.... yes I try to be firm, but these coughs are horrid, and last for weeks and weeks.... Now I got it.

My whole body hurts, to my eyes to my feet and all in between....
My clients know I am sick.. take one look at me.... but hmm they still keep a comming. :cry:

I am sooo looking forward to 5 pm, and my nice cozy bed.....and ear plugs as the teens are here this weekend.... :mrgreen:

If you're that sick take a sick day or 2. If you're not firm of course they are going to come! I hope you get better soon.

I know this is going to sound werid but what might help this weekend if not today is Vicks on your feet
I havee been doing it with my kids since they started almost a few days ago and within minutes it helps with the cough that hurts and helps them sleep
I do it all day for them not just a night because it helps so much at night thouhgt it might help durning the day
Sure enough it did
Also have been using hyrdoperoide in the ears one a day
My youngest has been sick since Friday it is almost gone and my DS has been sick since Sunday and his cough is almost gone as well
I know waht you mean about hard when your sick
Lucky my parents now are really good

barbie,, i am in the EXACT same boat as you are, i have six daycare kids and came down with a terrible cold/sore throat last night and went to bed early to try to beat it. This morning i woke up feeling even worse, my DH let me sleep in a bit so there was no time to call parents. Each parent that came in commented on how sick and terrible i sounded like, and yet, left their children!! i am soooo with you praying for 5pm to get here!!! hope your day is going alright!

OH that is awful ladies! I can so relate to all of it. I have already used 4 1/2 sick days this year due to a chest cold (go get it checked out!) and chest infection.
I constantly have to tell parents not to bring them when they are too ill to be at daycare, because it spreads to all the other children, my children and eventually ME! Then I have to close for ALL the parents! So hard, I HATE playing the harda$$, it doesn't suit me :wink:

but I just don't care anymore, if their children are sick and they don't have back up care, I get that, and I feel bad, but it's just not my problem, my job is to try to keep it all from spreading like wildfire.
If I am sick, I don't like the sighs (this is not directed at anyone in particular people!) or the comments about how inconvenient this is to the families in my care, I KNOW IT IS, BUT I AM S I C K!
Barbie, take care of you first, if you are still not ok on Sunday, take a day off! Two if it's needed! Definately the perils of the job.

i totally agree with you murf,,, if kids keep coming to daycare sick, the parents must know that eventually, we will get it too!

Yes I need to be more of a hard ass.. trust me I know.,.....Today was pretty much the worst day sick I have had in yrs..... I e mailed one of my clients to ask if she could pick up early.....then called my other two, they all came and I was off a whole 1 hr early.
This horrid horrid barking cough, is driving me nuts the kids have.....I am sooooooooo frustrated with the mother....
Last month I even closed my daycare for the day.... just so no one would bring thier sickies....

Yes, I will if I am not better, I will take a day off,
