I love Thanksgiving, it's my second favourite holiday after Christmas.

After a couple years spending it on the mainland with family, M and I are having a "Thankstravaganza" at our place whereby we invite our friends for an evening of turkey, wine, and good times. Like us, most of our friends don't have families of their own on the Island or kids to spend it with, so it's a great way to get everyone together and celebrate with people who mean a lot to you.

My specialty is stuffing and candied yams (with marshmallows). What's yours?

Tim that's awesome - and this year will be your first as a married couple so that's lots to celebrate too! Sounds like fun to do things that way and have friends over

My specialty is a killer pumpkin pie with warmed cinnamon-maple syrup to drizzle overtop the whipped cream, mmmmmm

I also really want to make my stuffing with hot Italian sausage and fresh pineapple.

Can't wait!

here's to a thanksgiving with electricity this year! :lol:

I was so devastated last year...my first time ever cooking thanksgiving dinner and the power goes out halfway through.

i am excited to make my own turkey again, and even more excited about the left over turkey... turkey wraps again :-D

i loves them
i have made one turkey completely on my own, 4 helping someone else... i need to master stuffing, i messed it up each time, but i don't like it, just for my guests anyone have any hints and or tips for stuffing

We've done this for the last few years too, and will continue! My family doesn't "do" Thanksgiving, and we love to do it, so we gather with friends! The power only went out on the gravy and beans, so it worked out ok :-D
