Approved by the Ministry!

Just wanted to celebrate that we received our completed homestudy all approved by the Ministry so are now in their adoption matching database. We'll be sending lots of prayers that if there is a child that we are right for we'll be matched with them as soon as possible. We're so ready to hold another little one in our arms, and hopefully because we are open to children up to 4 years old we might not have to wait too indefinitely.

That is wonderful news. Congratulations and hoping that you will soon be holding your baby or toddler. The waiting can be difficult, but also very exciting.

Congrats! I would like to hear more about your how it goes-like a mini blog! What was the process like, have you done it before? Is this for foster or (real) adoption? I think this is wonderful!

It's much to long a story to post because it covers us adopting our daughter from China almost 5 years ago, and then the last two years trying to adopt through two other international programs that failed and now trying to adopt through the ministry. My friends and family on facebook get updates, but sometimes things are just to hard to share with large groups. However, I'll definitely post when we have any definite news, because it is nice to have all of your support and celebration. With adopting you don't get many of the traditional recognition of being pregnant or when you adopt an older child, the baby celebrations, but I still plan to enjoy my paper pregnancy! :lol:

Bring on those Jelly Belly beans from Costco. :lol:

Okay Jet, I have to ask. How long did you wait till you were matched with her? How old is she? How did you find the experience? Any chance we can have coffee or something sometime and I can find out how it went for you? Or if you want to message me of the board I would love to hear from you.

Congrats....

When we adopted our eldest, it was FAST!!!!! Don't let your worker forget about you ~ ask to see the 'kids in waiting' books too.... you may find the child for your family there too!!!!

Also ask the worker for the child's "Life Book", they are scrap books of the child's life with their Foster Parents and hold lots of important information.

We definitely look at the online profiles, and the Ministry holds matching events a couple of times a year too. Now just keep those prayers coming that I can hold my patience and not getting anxious or worried about the wait.
