Re: Camp Columbia
My eldest went to Camp Columbia a couple of years in a row.
It sounded like a lot of fun!
This was about 8-9 years ago.
We drove up to Chemainus for the drop off and pick up and they headed over to Thetis Island with the group.
There was a bit of a "spiritual" aspect to it but nothing major.
For my child the whole adventure was a positive experience each time!!

Re: Camp Columbia
I went when i was a kid... I have only good memories... altho that was almost 20 years ago now... I do remember the religeous part being a bit stricter then i was used to as my regular camp was camp pringle and they are wide open about it... like I wasnt allowed to take communion because i wadsnt baptised anglican that kind of thing but it wasnt really that big of a deal except that i remember it...

Re: Camp Columbia
I also went as a kid and I absolutely loved it. The first time I went wasn't until I was 12 and I wished that my parents sent me when I was younger as I had so much fun. For me this was over 25 years ago and I still remember most of the camp songs, etc.
When my kids are old enough I will send them for the experience.

Re: Camp Columbia
Thanks so much for your replies. I didn't go to camp but always wanted to. This will be the first time she is away from us except for 1 night sleepovers at friends. I am a bit freaked out...but know that she will have a great experience!
