What to do in Vancouver

Postby Sunnygirl on Fri Aug 20, 2010 5:25 pm

DH and I may spend a day in Vancouver and it's been soooo many years since I've been there I honestly don't know what I'd do....

What kind of daytime stuff do you recommend (no kids) that won't cost a lot of $ ??

Thx.

A stroll through Granville Market and/or a stroll through Stanley Park. You can also take a horse and carriage ride through Stanley Park. Kitsilano Beach is very nice also. Capilano Suspension Bridge is also fun.

I believe the Capilano Suspension Bridge is big $$$.

If you like to hike, climb Grouse Mt. and take the cable car down (10 bucks each I think).

Rent bikes and ride round Stanley Park. Not sure how much but you could do a search online.

I agree with PP. Capilano is big $$$

In the same area is Parks Canada location I think. There is an Fisheries Interpretive Centre with a very similar setting as Capilano and it's all FREE. Beautiful setting and wonderful trails for hiking. There is even a nice observation area to enjoy the scenery.

Just checked the website and Capilano Suspension Bridge is expensive as other posters mentioned. It is $29.95 per adult. Probably a much better option to hike around Stanley Park or Grouse Mtn.

Thanks everyone.
It looks like we may not have as much time as I thought and may end up not doing any extras.
That fisheries interpretive centre though sounds interesting as dh has done volunteer work for our fisheries on the island.
