Tell me about your Vegan Lifestyle
We are exploring this and there are soooo many yummy things out there.
Right now we are aiming for 2 days a week of vegan meals...and then working our way up.
Tell me about your meals and snacks:-)

Re: Tell me about your Vegan Lifestyle
We've been doing it for so long I don't know where to begin! (full disclosure, I still use dairy in my coffee/tea and my husband and I eat lacto-ovo when we're out for treats, but the kids aged 4 and 6 are fully vegan)
What type of meals do you like to eat? We eat pasta salads, stir fries, curries, things like that. We do use tofu, and the meat analogs a reasonable amount. We've got a few good cookbooks (vegan with a vengance is great) but we've learned to veganize most recipes I come accross.
Chickpeas are great, and black beans, we eat a lot of those.
Let me know where your preferences lie and I could dig up some good recipes.

Re: Tell me about your Vegan Lifestyle
Awesome!:-)
My family loves their curries, casseroles, and chicken nuggets..So I'am trying to find an alternative to those..
The other thing I was trying to figure out was when we have like baked chicken, with rice and veggies on the side...What would I substitute the chicken for now....a hunk of tofu?
Also thought that slow cooking tofu would be good since the flavors would really combine....but can firm tofu hold its shape for that long?
hmm what else...What kind of supplements do you take?
I was looking into getting some Nutrional Yeast with B12, but I can't find the powdery stuff..only the flakes..
Any information or awesome websites would be appreciated as well:)
I've been using www.vegancoach.com and its been great.
Thanks a bunch

Re: Tell me about your Vegan Lifestyle
Hi Oceania! I've been vegan for many years, and most of what you eat now you can eat vegan with just substituting - ie soy cheese, soy milk, tofu, there is faux chicken breasts / nuggest, veggie ground (ie for casseroles, spaghetti etc) tofurkey, egg substitute etc.... It's also very easy to bake too!
I would love to do a cooking exchange or potluck if you guys are up for it
Just let me know or message me if you have any specific questions...
