Check your Telus bill due date

We received ours yesterday with a due date for last week. We called make sure we wouldn't be charged interest for a late payment. They said there was a billing error mistake last month and they were instructed to make a note on customer files if people called in. I asked if people who didn't call in would be charged late fees and she said they'd only avoid this charge if they called in. It's a pretty unethical way for a company to make money.

That's the same with us, but we got ours last week, and the due date was the day I received the bill, so I dashed in and paid it right away. You're right though, pretty crummy of them to do that :?

Call in and cancel and switch to shaw. That's beyond retarded. Telus is just one big scam. If you don't cancel and do phone in to have it corrected phone back a few days later because their employees typically lie about doing things on your account and then never do.

I don't have time to look but wondered if they were Better Business Bureau members and if I filed a compliant if there rating would go from an A to an A+. :lol:

Another reason why we love SHAW! no bs ever! .. that's rediculous and a sad way to make more $$ .. they should be trying to keep all the customers they have but wait they can do whatever they want cause don't they suck in people with the "FREEBIES" then lock them in a 3 yr contract.

But seriously. Telus answers to the CRTC, so file a complaint with them. When we were still Telus customers, we started getting bills with a small deduction each month, apparently because their service was so awful that the CRTC was making them rebate their customers as penance.

Now that I am a happy Shaw customer, I can look back at all the problems I had with Telus and all the wasted time spent trying to talk to customer service and almost laugh.

We filed a complaint with the BBB against Telus. It seems to have done less than nothing.

and shaw doesn't charge you when you move!!!!
How many times did I move and was charged 50 bucks for that.
Yup make the switch to shaw. They have awesome deals on all the time, I currently do not have cable, but they keep phoning me up to try and give me a yr free! (I watch online)

thanks for the heads up because i am not too good at noticing these things. sure enough mine is the same. the operator said they were late mailing them out. word of caution-what the lady told me was that a late charge would appear on my next bill so i would have to call again to get this taken off even though i called today!!! that is bs. so remember to call next month too.

If we didn't hear so many comments from shaw phone users having problems we might make the switch but with so many serious allergies in our house and many of my customers still calling our home phone we stick with Telus in the end but not without a lot of irritation.

For what it's worth, we've only had one problem with our Shaw phone. We lost our service after the wind knocked out our power a few years ago, but when we reported it to Shaw it was fixed within minutes of our call. Even the other day when some KIVers were reporting difficulties calling Telus lines, I was able to phone my parents, who are still with Telus, without issue.

I get paid every month before Telus bills me, so I just pay them, it is always the same amount.

I just made the switch to shaw!!! $80 a month gets me digital tv, basic phone & extreme internet. But I also decided to get a pvr and pay the $25 a month for that and the $6 for voicemail...so in total I am paying $115 which is cheaper than the $140 I pay right now for basic cable and internet and phone. yay!
