What do you put in your homemade christmas crackers?
Every year I see people asking where to find the snaps for the crackers because they make their own...
This year I went out and bought cheap crackers to take apart and get the snaps and hat out of and I want to put in my own stuff... But...
WHAT does everyone put in theirs (kids and adults)?
Is there anything you would LIKE to see in yours?

I usually put in a tissue paper crown, a small toy/trinket, a chocolate, and a joke/fortune. You can tailor the above to kids or adults.
Btw, you used to be able to buy the cracker part at Michael's - can you not anymore?

You can still buy them at Michael's, however, they only get one shipment at the beginning of November, so you have to get them quick. I always buy at least 3 packages in case I miss them the next year! As for what I put in them:
Tissue hat
fortune (tailored to the receiver
)
scratch and wins
candy
small trinket thing (sometimes hard to find
)
For kids
hat
candy
fortune/joke
toy- littlest pet shop & lego figurine

When I asked at Michaels a couple weeks ago I was Laughed at (she was nice about it though
) and told they were sold out in September... She also told me that she had heard Thrifities still had some but I was at the dollar store...
Thanks for the ideas! I would love to hear more. The scratch ticket idea is AWESOME!
I got a couple of the "rimrollers" from Lee Valley for my parents crackers and I had thought about putting in my mom's favorite lip gloss but I am stumped on Hubby and the kids and something else for my dad...

Ds is making fuse bead Santas, xmas trees and rudolf ornaments to put in. I too did the dollar store trick and bought cheap crackers to take apart. It's probably cheaper in the long run, I bought 12 crackers for $3. Don't know how much it is to by the snap things at Michaels.
