Looking for higher quality plastic animals for my ds, but wh

Has anyone come across, perhaps a set or individual, plastic animals, a bit higher quality than the animal planet ones at TRU.

Ds is really into learning about wild animals, big cats, etc. and I was hoping to find a really nice gift for him. The ones at TRU are geared toward the 3 year age range and ds is 6.

Are there any unique toy stores in town that might have something?

Buddies Toys sells a brand...but the name is escaping me atm.
They have amazing animals, fairies, knights, dinosaurs etc.....great quality but you do pay a little more for them!

Kaboodles and Buddy Toys carry Schleich figures. They are higher quality but also a little pricier.

Buddies has a great selection of them! I believe they are hand painted? Yes, a little more pricey, but you can tell they are higher quality. They have a lot of great stuff at their store - I love shopping there!

Schleich animals are my DD's very favourite toys. She plays with them every day since we got some last Christmas. She is getting more this Christmas.

We just started collecting these. We've been ordering off Chapters/Indigo.com. They have a huge selection and they also have sets of 4 or 5 animals for a little less expensive. It's free shipping for orders $25 or more.
