Costco is by far the Cheapest and you Don't Need a Costco card apparently to use the Pharmacy.
Wal-Mart is the second cheapest (I think $8)

I think SUperstore is around $2-$2.50. Maybe it's our benefits covering things but we have found it really affordable there.

They always ask me for my Costco card when I use the pharmacy?
I agree though, they are the cheapest!

Re: perscription filling fees
FYI: You can get AirMiles (often double) if you fill at Safeway. A bit of a perk.
Still sucks though. Perhaps compromise and get a 60 day supply?

I would think that you would need a Costco card to get things at the pharmacy. I can't even buy a bottle of folic acid there (which you have to ask for over the counter and pay for there) without my card. So that surprises me to hear that you can get prescriptions without a card.

Re: perscription filling fees
I get a few prescriptions filled regularly for allergies and athsma and when I filled them at Pharmasave, it seemed pricey. So I called around because they are very common prescriptions, and they were cheapest at the Medicine Shoppe on Shelbourne near Feltham. I didn't try Walmart or Costco because I live in Gordon Head and wasn't going to drive out there specifically for those. I called London Drugs, Safeway, Thrifty's and the Medicine Shoppe if I remember right.

The Nurse at me Gestational Diabetes Clinic says that you don't need a card. I would imagine it might be a provincially legislated service that must be offered to all.

Re: perscription filling fees
I just filled my son's epi-pen prescription there at the end of December, we do not have a Costco membership, I have done this several times as they are the cheapest - IMO. - they dont require a M/Ship card if you are having a prescription filled at the pharmacy, you just have to show your receipt on the way out - hope that helps!

Wow...just had two prescriptions filled at two different places. First one was Sunday, my daughter was sick and I wasn't about to drive across town. Went to the Pharmasave by the clinic and the dispensing fee was $11.99
today I got my husband's prescription from Costco and the fee was $4.49!!!

Re: perscription filling fees
I just put it on tillchecker.com if anyone wants to keep a public record going. You may have to enter the store in (as I don't have many pharmacies in there), and search for dispensing fee. Enter the price in and we can compare all around town.

By law Costco cannot require a membership for their pharmacy. If you say at the door you are going to the pharmacy they don't require a card.
Also the receipts are yellow so they are clearly marked as different.
You will have to pay debit or cash. They don't do any credit card but their AMEX.
