Thank you for posting SK! I am definitely changing my old (bad) habits...every time I hear something like this, it confirms my fears and makes me very glad that we are mostly a cell phone free home now.
Both my fiance and I are self employed, so cell phones are a big part of our lives. Once we enter our home, the phones are forwarded to our landline (which is not a cordless) and our cell phones are turned off. If we need to use them for texts or BBM, we leave the house.
We have also recently heard that cell phones in cars are the worst. We both have GPS systems with handsfree...apparently this is terrible. Neither of us use this when our baby is in the car, and we TRY not to when we are alone.
Thanks for confirming that we are taking the necessary precautions!

Oh one more thing...
We got RID of the wifi in our home. Now both laptops and the desktop are in the basement, plugged in, in our home office. No more wifi, no more cell phones...!

Lilbean, it seems to be coming more and more clear that the precautionary approach is the most sensible way to go.
We just got this email:

There is more to this story that the press is stating however. Cell phones have been deemed a 2B carcinogen risk. There are 266 other agents in this same category, including car exhaust fumes and additives in foods. It is dependant on AMOUNT OF EXPOSURE. Cell phones are considered a 2B risk if used for more than 30 continuous minutes more tghan once a day, every day for 10 years. That is kind of like saying if I lock myself in the garage with my car running for 30 seconds everyday for a long period of time I increase my risk of cancer.
Well DUH!!!

With more and more people giving up their land lines and primarily using cell phones as their main source of contact it would be easy to see that 30 minutes a day could be a minimum amount of use. Many of our friends and family fall into this category. Kids have become addicted to this technology, have their phones on vibrate under their pillows and talk on them into the night. I'm pretty sure I'm not wrong but let's do a poll and check what other people think their use is per day.
