fundraiser for lupus

Hello everyone as many of you may remember i lost my mother a year ago and one of the many causes of her death was lupus so my father and uncle decided that they wanted to help with research as its one disease that does not get much attention(well not as much as cancer and diabetes , which my mother had as well ) , so they decided to contact the lupus foundation in vancouver and now have a fundraiser set up so here are the details.

Smash a car for lupus , make a donation and you will get to hit a car with a sledge hammer . The dates are july 29th, 30th, and 31st at country club mall in nanaimo during mall hours (and slightly longer ) Please come out and help with raising money for this disease of a 1000 faces. As more details such as exact times come available i will post them. All proceeds will be going to the lupus foundation . The cars are being donated by a tow truck company.

Hi shortkakebc,

I won't be able to make it but I would love to be able to support a wonderful cause. My mom died from complications from lupus 3 years ago and it was a shock to us when she was diagnosed. Within one month of finding out, she died and I still haven't gotten over the loss.

When more details come about, please let me know.

Newmom , i will let you know more details as they come available. I do know the lady that my uncle has been talking to wants to come to nanaimo for the event and if it goes well in nanaimo she wants to do something similar in vancouver with the proceeds going to the cause in my familys name . I will be going to nanaimo that weekend to help with everything . I am sorry you are still having problems dealing with your mothers passing. I have to say i miss my mom more this year than last , everything changed for me and my kids . My 4 yr old really misses her grandma almost on daily basis she will talk about her grandma in heaven and that grandma made the rainbows for her and her brother(my 8 yr old son came up with that when we told him grandma had passed, he wanted to remember her when he saw a rainbow during the day and the stars at night. ) I appreciate your offer of helping in some way and my family is proud to do something for everyone who has been affected by lupus in one way or another.

Melanie , there is no site yet but i will make an event and post it in here when i do it. I do beleive the lady from the lupus foundation was going to advertise all over the island and i have asked my dad and uncle to send details to me so if this happens i will also post that here.
