anyone want to walk the TC 10km?

I have run in the past but my knees are objecting! I have decided to walk now as I always love walking and that way can work towards something with the TC event. I am thinking of doing my big walks every Sunday through the Running Room on MIllstream. I went once long ago and was the only walker there. Is anyone interested in joining me? The free groups go out from the store Sunday mornings at 8:30am. We pick the route and distance I think? Come on, you know you want to! COR!

Sole Sisters is not a free group - but it is a FANTASTIC women's only training group with many levels of both walkers and runners. There were probably 25 of us walking last year. Sole Sisters meets every Tuesday starting at the end of January for training and various educational/inspirational talks. Fantastic group run by an awesome woman (Mena Westhaver) - can't say enough good things about Sole Sisters.

Funny, I too was contemplating Sole Sisters. That being said, there's a 5km walk coming up in Esquimalt, and I'm planning on walking the TC 10k too. Through Crystal Pool, there's a 14 week (1 class/week) Times Colonist Training Clinic for $120 that includes the cost of your TC tegistration. Teaches you nutrition, health, etc...

Mena is an amazing women who inspires us all! There were over 200 women in this clinic last year and we all had an amazing time. Do check it out if you are interested! we do fun stuff including a flash mob (voluntary!). I'm the one in black!
