how should I cook beet greens?
Trying out some new things for my family...broadening our horizons from the standards of corn and carrots
Had the beets yesterday now trying to figure out how to do the tops? Internet says, steam, boil or saute. What is your best way? I'm looking for simple, not fancy eaters here at this house. Do I cook the stocks and leafs, just the leaves? I have absolutely zero clue, never cooked them, never eatem them....Help me out please

Re: how should I cook beet greens?
We eat them often....I just steam them till they are nice and soft....love them with butter, salt and pepper. I pressure cook the beets for 15 minutes ....we eat beets several times a week and I don't have time to cook them in a regular pot.

They don't last long though once you've cut them off the beet root. I usually just cook ours together. Cook the beets first (I usually slice them and put them in a steamer). Then at the end, once the beets are cooked, just toss in the greens and let steam for another minute or so, till wilted. Drain water off, and just add a bit of butter s&p. Super easy. I almost like the tops more than the beets, and they're soooo good for you!
Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not.
