How can I put seat belts in my wagon??

Postby JaynaF on Thu Jan 26, 2006 1:16 pm

Hey guys. I just got a wagon, but it doesnt' have seat belts. Seats, yes. But I feel like my wee ones would be a bit safer with some seatbelts of some sort. Wondering if anyone has any ideas for some makeshift ones that would do the trick? I cant use scarves or anything, cuz its like one solid frame, there are no holes or anything....lol Jayna

Perhaps can get those straps from fabric store that is similar to ones on the highchairs? Get some of those, buckles to attach it on..nuts and bolts and those washers to put on top of the strap and into the sides of the wagon? Is it metal or plastic? I have a plastic wagon that has straps on it and its uses a nut and bolt and metal washers. Does that make sense? Can look at mine if you would like to get an idea of how to attach it? Let me know! Or I can take a picture of it for you, close up!

I did it to mine. I bought the strapping and clips at Fabricland. Cut two slits at each end about an inch apart, threaded the strapping through, and attached the clips. One of the clip ends I had to sew the strapping around - I used a big jeans needle. I think it cost me 5 bucks, and works like a charm.
