You may snicker when you read this BUT Costco actually has a set of cards (thank you, wedding, birthday, etc.) that are all hand-made and really quite nice and lovely... and of course, a good price.

I know.. Costco and elegant/classy in the same breath?! Heh.

There's a very nice card store at mattick's farm and there is a good one on broughton right next to the parkade.

I can't remember the names of either store but both have very nice cards and gift wrap.

Hope that helps!

The Papery on Fort Street (between Broad & Douglas) has a nice selection as well. I believe the place that was referred to on Broughton is Getting is Write...they also have beautiful cards. There also used to be a place on Oak Bay Ave but I can't remember the name of it.

The most special cards are made by yourself. You could attend a stamping workshop for a small fee and make some cards there under someone else's guidance. I know Barb DeGagne with Stampin Up (under HOme Based Businesses here) does workshops like this regularly. For something like $10 you can make 3 cards....she will show you how and she supplies everything you need. The first time I did this I also gave thank you "gifts" with the cards....the gifts were worth $50 but people were so much more touched by the cards.

I have a ton of supplies that you could use to make your own unique thank you card for free.

I teach card making at Juan de Fuca (stamping cards and using embelishments) and if you like, we can get together for you to make a special one yourself (no cost). I feel if you are posting to find a very special thank you card, it must mean a lot to you and I'd like to help you out.

Email me if you are interested at vikkika@shaw.ca
