Nissan Xterra... Thinking of buying one
Hey,
Just wondering if anyone has one of these ? My wife and I like the style
of them. I know they aren't the best on gas etc. We are just thinking of ditching the mini van as our little one is a little older now. Our MPV is awesome, but it is time for a change.
your thoughts...

Nissan XTerra
We had one and we loved it. We moved from Ottawa to Victoria three years ago and it drove great in the winter in Ottawa and when we went up to Mount Washington during the skiing season. We had a standard and really had good take off from stop and we had a tent trailer at the time and pulled it from Ottawa to Victoria and you don't feel a thing.
We traded it in because we were expecting and yes you are correct that it is a gas guzzling pig, so it was making my husband chock every time we filled up every week.
I miss it alot

My Dad has one, I love it...I also like how the back seat sits a bit higher than the front. I don't think you can go wrong with a Nissan. We have a Pathfinder (an old one) and it just doesn't stop. I also think they are better on gas than the Pathfinder, and my Dad has it because it can pull his boat. It is a very nice looking (rugged & tough but not oversized) SUV.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!

Everyone I know that has had an Xterra has LOVED it - but just be sure to drive one over your regular routes, etc. The one thing I couldn't stand about it was how truck-like the ride is... and coming from a minivan that is car-chassis based, you might find the truck-like ride uncomfy. And your kids might as well.
One vehicle that I was SO suprised that I liked the ride of (and the back seats are higher-up than the front ones like the Xterra) is the Honda Element. Yes - odd-looking but man, that thing is family-friendly as long as your kids are forward-facing in their child restraints.
