Wednesday, June 30 Outdoor Games Beach Day!
Friday July 2 China Town Tour (Inspirational, Educational and Enjoyable) Directed by Su Ma, a local Educational Assistant.
July 5 - 9 Cooking With Mrs. Gibbs of Gibbs Catering
Mrs. Gibbs is a well-known local cook and caterer. In addition, she teaches cooking classes to students at a local independent school. Children will learn safety, cooking methods and a variety of recipes.
July 12 -16 Sports Week with Ms. Achtem and Ms. Sullivan
Each are UVic Education students with extensive experience in leading children in group sporting lessons. During the week they will lead the children in a variety of sports activities.
July 19 -23 Puppetry with Ms. Schell and Mr. Gosley
The Victoria Puppet Zone will be here this week to teach the children all about puppetry. Students will make their own puppets. At the end of the week there will be a very special presentation. Ms. Schell is the Regional Director for the Pacific Northwest Region of the Puppeteers Of America and co-editor of the Canada Puppet Zone Newsletter. Mr. Gosley has worked on The Muppet’s Frazzle Rock, was Basil Bear on Canadian Sesame Street and on numerous TV series.
July 26 -30 Art with Ms. Quaedvlieg
Ms. Quaedvlieg is a recent UVIC graduate. She graduated with an Arts’ Degree specializing in Art History. She will teach the children various forms of art.
Aug. 2 – 6 Drama with Mr. Payne
Mr. Payne is the Artistic Producer of Theatre SKAM. He has been involved in many productions, as well as The Fringe Festival, and has organized and run several Drama Camps for children.
Aug 9 -13Gum Boot Dancing with ‘Just Aissi, Just Gum Boots’
On Wednesday, August 11, our special guests may be arriving from as far away as Montreal! They will present animated workshops about Gumboot Dancing! This is a lot of fun! Students will need to bring their very own gum boots for this workshop. The rest of the week will involve Ocean Adventures.
Aug 16 -20 Storytelling with Peg Hasted
Peg is an Early Childhood Educator and an Education Assistant. She will engage the children in oral storytelling that encourages the use of the imagination. Peg brings lively participation tales, seasonal stories, and years of experience to schools, libraries, festivals and family events.

The one the kids wait for, these outings are outstanding! This program gets better every year as we make changes based on the responses of both parents and participants. The goal of Outstanding Outings is to offer safe, supervised adventures for this 'in between' age group that is not quite ready to organize these activities on their own. These trips run all day from 9am-4pm. Extended care hours (7:30-9am and 4-5pm) available for an extra $8/day. Please note activites are subject to change due to weather or unforseen circumstances.

Enjoy your lunch breaks this summer listening to an eclectic mix of live music at Summer in the Square Lunchtime Concerts, weekdays from noon to 1 p.m. from July 5 to September 3, 2010 on Spirit Stage in Centennial Square.
Bring your lunch - and some sunscreen - and soak up some sun and free tunes. From classical to world beat, folk to jazz and baroque to blues, there's something for everyone.
Summer in the Square Lunchtime Concerts are presented by the City of Victoria with the support of the Music Performance Fund and Local 247 American Federation of Musicians. The concerts are "rain or shine" and are subject to change.

The performances are put on by the Story Theatre Company with the support of Island Savings’ Growing Island Families Together (GIFT) program.
