Who hasn’t marveled at the spectacular flying prowess of damsel and dragonflies? Cruising at 50 km/hr, they can stop on a dime, hover motionless, then fly forward, backward, east or west and nab a mosquito in midflight! They are amazing!

Here’s your chance to discover who’s who in the dragonfly world. Swan Lake hosts an introductory course on dragonfly watching with local entomologist, Gord Hutchings.
A two hour lecture takes place on Wednesday, July 6 from 7 to 9 pm; with a field trip on Saturday, July 10th, from 1 to 3 pm to see the living dragonflies of your neighbourhood up close and personal. I can’t promise it, but you might get a dragonfly to land on your nose?
