more info
As one of the most popular and widely reputable martial arts academies, Grupo Axé Capoeira would like to offer your students the opportunity to engage in a unique and interdisciplinary art form that has inspired thousands of children, youth, and adults since it’s introduction to Canada in 1990. This interactive children’s demonstration will be occurring at the main floor of the Bay Center on May 25th, 2013. With its emphasis on active health, the arts, and cultural appreciation, we believe that educating our community members about Capoeira fills a much-needed niche in society, particularly in light of rising obesity rates among Canadian children.
The Afro-Brazilian art form, Capoeira, will teach students an appreciation for multiculturalism through the introduction of traditional Afro-Brazilian instruments, Portuguese songs and aspects of Brazilian dance. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in energetic Capoeira and fundamental physical conditioning movements.
The beneficial effects of children learning Capoeira cannot be understated. We believe that the inclusion of your students at our free interactive Capoeira demonstration would increase the worldwide perspective and appreciation for an active lifestyle in both your students and teachers alike. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions, or would like to know more about how reserve your attendance at our May 25th demonstration. Please refer to the attached write-up below for a more detailed description of our group as well as the art form of Capoeira.
